Dodecanese

Dodecanese  means “twelve islands“. They  are situated in the Aegean Sea and this island group defines the eastern limit of the Sea of Crete. This is also an exciting area to sail in but you'd need to either fly directly into somewhere like Kos or Rhodes or if you can spare the time, allow time for a full day's trip on a fast ferry from Athens.
The most  important and well-known except  Rhodes (Rodos) and  Kos are  Patmos, Astipalea, Kalimnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Leros, Nisyros, Symi, Tilos and Kastellorizo.

This group of islands offers everything a sailor needs. The strong winds during summer, alongside with Greece’s most beautiful sun guarantee you sailing holidays.  Islands’ contrasts and many different destinations and famous landmarks give the visitor the opportunity to explore the vast wealth of nature with kilometers of sandy beaches as well as a variety of activities.
